Sai-Auo : Think you got best sausage? Not until you try this one.

When you think about going to Thailand, Chaing Mai is definitely a must see city in your list.  Apart from its beautiful scenic views and rich culture, Chaing Mai has a wide variety of  local foods that uniquely represent Northern Thailand.  One of the most popular local Chaing Mai’s must-eat is definitely Sai-Aou. You can’t say you are in Chaing Mai unless you already try this dish.





 

What you see above is some pictures of Sai-Aou.  Don’t be surprised if you think it’s like a sausage because  Sai-Aou is actually a sausage but prepared and cooked in Northern Thai style.  To make Sai-Aou, Thai people mix ground pork with a variety of Thai local herbs. The mixture will be stuffed in a sausage skin and charcoal grilled until perfection.  In Thailand, Sai-Aou is known for its tasty smell and rich flavor. It is often served with sticky rice, raw vegetables and roasted Thai chilies.  Sai-Aou is usually cheap, full of nutrients, and easy to find.  The best place to get Sai-Aou is at a local market in Chaing Mai and other provinces in Northern Thailand.

So, when you have a chance to visit Chaing Mai, you should  never miss to try Sai-Aou. It’s not just a tasty sausage but arguably the most healthy sausage on earth.
